Local daily La Nuova Sardegna says Clooney's injuries aren't serious, but that he was taken to the John Paul II hospital emergency room on Tuesday. He was reportedly heading to the set when he was struck by the vehicle.

Police told AFP they were unable to comment while operations related to the crash were still under way.

Pictures from George Clooney's motorbike crash in Sardinia, which left the actor hospitalised, have now emerged.

Clooney is now filming his new TV series "Catch 22" on the island.

A tweet from the paper appeared to show the bike next to a vehicle with a cracked windscreen.

"George was treated and released", his rep said. He was taken to hospital with a possible injury to his hip, state news agency Ansa said.

George was doing 60 miles per hour when a auto suddenly pulled in front of him.

The 57-year-old actor was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for bruising on his leg, arm, and pelvis, TMZ reports.

Cicognani confirmed that George was, fortunately, 'not seriously injured'. "The driver decided to make an abrupt right turn and clipped George".

Clooney was driving one of the motorized scooters that are extremely popular in Italy, though he has a well-documented love for motorcycles back home as well.

George Clooney was recently honoured by the American Film Institute with a Life Achievement Award. George suffered a broken rib and some other scrapes and bruises, while Sarah was diagnosed with a broken foot.
