Manchester City have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, the clubs announced on Tuesday.

The Algeria worldwide had his medical at City's training base today.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Manchester City are reportedly close to landing Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez this summer.

The Algerian then headed for the City Football Academy where he officially signed a five-year contract with the champions, who have sent a message to their title rivals.

He later said he had "regrets" over the dispute, during which the Professional Footballers' Association offered to be a mediator between club and player.

Director of Football Txiki Begiristain said: 'Riyad is a hugely talented player.

'Over the past few years, he has established himself as one of the Premier League's most exciting players. "Pep is committed to playing attacking football, which is a ideal for me, and City's performances last season were outstanding", he said on the club's official website.

"Watching them from afar has been a pleasure. We're sure he will bring additional attacking quality to our squad". He took his tally to an impressive 39 goals in 139 Premier League appearances, 38 of those coming as Leicester lifted the trophy in stunning fashion back in 2016.

Mahrez's experience of winning the Premier League will certainly have left him hungry for more success, and he now has the chance to achieve that once more under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

The Football Club would like to place on record its honest thanks to Riyad for his major contribution to an incredible period of success since his arrival from French side Le Havre in January 2014.
