More than two dozen people were injured, several severely, when a severe storm ripped through a trailer park just south of Watford City early Tuesday.

CBS Bismarck, North Dakota affiliate KXMB reports the McKenzie County Sheriff's Department said a seven-day-old baby died after being transported earlier to an undisclosed hospital containing advanced life support services.

According to the sheriff's office, the storm hit an RV park and trapped multiple people. The department notes the family of the child has asked that his name be withheld for now.

A shelter was set up at the Civic Center - and many people showed up with tales of a brush with a very risky storm.

The tornado, which reportedly had wind speeds that reached 127 miles per hour, made landfall in Prairie View RV Park after midnight on Tuesday, wreaking havoc.

'There's more devastation than a tornado four years ago.

McKenzie County Sheriff Gary Schwartzenberger says the storm went over his house and down into the park about half a mile away. He says the storm "devastated an entire community".

Schwartzenberger said the park residents would be allowed back briefly Tuesday afternoon to collect their belongings. He said the park would then be shut down and that cleanup operations would resume Wednesday morning.

Clifford Bowden is among those who escaped injury. Bowden says he and his dog were in his camper at Prairie View RV Park when powerful winds picked it up and slammed it down on the ground. "Certainly Lt. Governor and myself will be looking into what it takes to make sure that we have state of the art capability", said Burgum.

He has been staying along with dozens of others at the Watford City Civic Center where the Red Cross has established a shelter.
