West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund.

The Hammers have been in talks with the German club for the past few days, and have finally reached a breakthrough, securing the Ukraine worldwide for a fee of £17.5 million (€20m/$23m).

The 28-year-old has signed a new four-year deal at the club, with co-owner David Gold announcing the move before the Hammers' official Twitter account.

"He has 77 caps for Ukraine and has played in the Champions League for both Dynamo Kiev and Dortmund". Borussia Dortmund signed Yarmolenko for roughly the same fee less than an year ago, so to break even despite his disappointing season is a good deal for the club.

West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has admitted that he is "delighted" with his side's transfer business to date and hopes that more arrivals will be forthcoming.

"We are very happy to welcome Andriy", West Ham director of football Mario Husillos said in a statement.

The Hammers have bolstered their squad with the additions of Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski and Issa Diop already this summer.

"Jack also knows the Premier League very well, and I know all our supporters will join me in welcoming them both to the London Stadium".

West Ham remain in advanced talks with Lazio over the signing of midfielder Felipe Anderson and defender Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians.
