Keane had missed the last few games of ITV's coverage from Russian Federation but he will be there for the final, on Sunday, and was in-situ for the semi-final clash between England and Croatia.

"Before the game, the whole talk was about the final, the final", began Keane, directing his comments at Wright.

No, we're not talking about that shirt Ian Wright chose to wear for ITV's coverage of England's World Cup exit at the hands of Croatia, we're talking about the former striker's live, on-air spat with Roy Keane.

At full-time, with the score deadlocked at 1-1, England looking to be lagging, and extra-time looming, the former Irish captain found his opportunity to wreak havoc.

"I don't mind you being happy, but you were planning the final, where the parades were".

"I made the point a few weeks ago, tongue in cheek, but you have to focus on one game".

Wright argued in return: "We wasn't talking about the final, we were just having a laugh with you". "The things is we were just trying to like.we were happy and you weren't happy for us being happy at that time".

A fired up Keane started the debate as he suggested many England fans had lost track of reality as they got carried away with the excitement of their World Cup run, with Wright eager to snap back at the Irishman in typically jovial fashion. You take it one game at a time.

You know how hard it is to get to these big finals or even get to these World Cup.

The Three Lions were knocked out of the World Cup by Croatia in the semi-finals tonight.

'It was all about the final.

"Look at these England players, a lot of them haven't won a trophy, it's highly unlikely the first trophy you're going to win in your career is a World Cup."

'You're talking about the final?

You've got to be aware of it and deal with it yourself.
