Epic Games Announce $8 Million Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series

Although, for the time being, names and rarities for these items are now unknown. Throw in the removal of the Durr Burger sign from the game as well as Epic flooding the real world with Loot Llamas appearing in Paris, London, and Cologne, hint at some massive shake ups for Season 5 of Fortnite.

The latest tweet from Epic teases that "Worlds Collide" tomorrow, July 12th, with the launch of Fortnite Season 5.

In "Fortnite: Battle Royale", the changing of seasons is a big deal, and Thursday's transition to Season 5 may be the biggest one yet.

Esports Insider says: We feared we would have to wait until after summer for Fortnite esports but it seems to be coming to us sooner than expected.

If the new Battle Pass is anything to go by, players will have ten weeks and 100 new tiers to unlock, packed to the rafters with new skins, gliders, pickaxes, emotes, loading screens, back bling and much more besides!

The war between the two tip games in the battle royale genre has been going on for less than a year now, but that does not mean that it has not been a fierce one. Season 5 will begin simultaneously across all platforms. It'll be interesting to see if Epic sticks to this date considering the delays we've seen on the rollout of specific features such as Playground LTM. Because, lets face it, you was either asleep in the dead or night or crying into a pint glass because the world cup was no longer "coming home".

While there are obviously no details about these characters or the theme for season five, fans are certainly buzzing about all the cosmetics and storylines that may be heading for Fortnite: Battle Royale.

The third skin appears to be some sort of military ranger.

The teaser image dropped on Twitter shows a stylized axe similar to Viking and Scandinavian hatchets.
