Missing out on Champions League spots under Antonio Conte was a huge issue and we can not spend another year out of Europe's elite club competition.

Maurizio Sarri is claimed to be a fan of the Spaniard and the former Napoli boss is reportedly planning to take him to Chelsea with him during the ongoing window.

Chelsea FC are looking to rebuild their squad after the Blues finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last term to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second time in three seasons.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte also tried to bring the Senegal star to Chelsea in 2016, albeit for the more modest sum of €50m, but the bid was rejected.

The Napoli coach has been heavily linked with the manager's job at Stamford Bridge, despite the fact that Antonio Conte remains in charge.

He faces a hard task at Chelsea, where a tighter transfer purse and reduced involvement from Roman Abramovich has led to reinforcements which have recently been made up of players considered to be either second or third choice targets of Conte.

A workaholic capable of bringing out the best in the players at his disposal, Sarri could be the flawless man to make Chelsea title challengers once again.

The Mirror reports that the prospective new Chelsea manager even plans to live at the club's training base at Cobham in Surrey.
