Pogba urges France to avenge Euros defeat

As France prepared for Sunday's final, Pogba, 25, promised there was more to come from him not only this weekend but in years to come.

France began dreaming of World Cup glory after a two-decade wait after Les Bleus on Tuesday defeated Belgium to reach the final, unleashing a wave of soccer euphoria across the country.

"I want mine." Pogba said while Croatia midfielder Luka Modric was their driving force the French plan would not be limited to stopping the Real Madrid playmaker.

Mbappe appeared unsafe throughout, creating six scoring chances for his side, who will wait the winners of Wednesday's other semi between England and Croatia. Many fans and players pay little attention to the third-place playoff but for Belgium, to win it would go one better than an earlier "golden generation" who lost both the semi-final and playoff in 1986.

"In the changing room, [coach] Didier Deschamps was happy".

After winning a domestic treble with PSG, 19-year-old Mbappe is spearheading his country's bid for World Cup glory in Russian Federation.

"We'd like to have got to the final", said Omba, 18. We did not forget the doubts about us at the beginning of the competition, about our ability to play together.

"Two years ago, I remember what happened two years ago", he said. We must not let this chance pass.

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have ripped into Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud after his France performance at the World Cup.

France have been improving throughout the tournament and have beat Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium in the knockout rounds without needing extra time or penalties.

"A lot of pride", said the defender. "And in my role I've got the eyes into Euro 2020 so it's not the right moment to make an assessment just yet".
