Armless Florida man accused of stabbing tourist

According to Miami Beach Police Department Jonathan Crenshaw, who is a native of Florida, stabbed 22-year-old Cesar Coronado twice with the scissors before running away from the crime scene.

Crenshaw is well-known in Miami Beach as a street artist who uses his feet to paint, according to local media.

Coronado, a tourist visiting from Chicago, and a friend told police that Coronado had only asked for directions before the alleged attack, the Miami New Times reports.

A homeless man with no arms has been charged with stabbing a tourist in Florida.

Crenshaw said he was lying down when Coronado approached and punched him, police added. He then stuck the scissors in his waistband and walked away quickly, according to the police report.


Crenshaw has been charged with one count of felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Barrientos described the attacker to police as a homeless man with no arms. The 22-year-old from Chicago was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Crenshaw, who told police he acted in self-defense, was being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

His arrest record includes offences dating back to 2008 for trespassing, disorderly intoxication, vandalism and battery on police officers among others.

Crenshaw remains in jail. He has a court date set for July 18.
