Tom Cruise warns friend George Clooney to 'be careful' after bike crash

"I could never have imagined that I would have hit George Clooney".

George Clooney, seen here at the American Film Institute's 46th Life Achievement Award Gala, in June, has been seen for the first time since being involved in a motorbike crash.

His wife Amal and others helped George as he left a golf cart and mad his way to a set of stairs leading to the plane.

"Fallout" actor has given his thoughts on the incident, which saw the Hollywood star hospitalised after he was hit by a vehicle as he was driving to the set of his new series Catch-22 in Sardinia, Italy, on Monday.

While he recovers from the bumps and bruises, new details about the crash have emerged. Clooney said he was going 54 miles per hour when the driver of a Mercedes cut in front of him and hit him head-on. "I was just starting to turn, I'd only gone a little way over the white line".

Thankfully, a rep for Clooney told ET that while the actor was hospitalized after the incident, he's now on the mend. See the first photos of the actor after being released from the hospital, below.


On Wednesday, a rep for the actor told People, "George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

Meanwhile, Gianni Visciano, a witness to the accident, told the paper Clooney was holding his head after the crash and seemed to have trouble moving his legs.

The terrifying moment was caught on video and posted by Corriere TV.

The movie star is recovering at his rented home in Sardinia following the crash near Olbia, Italy on Tuesday, after he was briefly hospitalized, and now the plumber behind the wheel of the auto has opened up about the drama.

The "Monuments Men" star was rushed to John Paul II Hospital in the nearby town of Olbia via an ambulance after the crash but was later discharged with minor injuries.
