Today, United are in advanced talks to sign Gareth Bale....

Manchester United are poised to sign Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale in a sensational £90m move this summer - if Los Blancos are able to prise Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard away from Stamford Bridge.

The Welsh star was angered by Zidane's decision to bench him for the Champions League final against Liverpool.

Ronaldo's exit will have given Bale hope he could be the new main man in Madrid after seeing his game time gradually decrease under Zinedine Zidane.

Despite consistently rising to the big occasion, Bale has always been in Ronaldo's shadow at Real - sometimes being booed by the Bernabeu faithful - and it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old will remain at Madrid to fill the void left by Ronaldo or move elsewhere.

Speaking in an interview with Spanish radio station Cope, Bale said: "Maybe I'll stay at Madrid, maybe not".

New boss Julen Lopetegui is expected to hold talks with Bale's camp to discuss his future but there are growing rumours the Welsh worldwide is keen for a fresh start and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

Mourinho spoke to Bale after United's friendly with Madrid during the club's pre-season tour to the United States in 2017 and said,"How can I buy you if you don't speak to me?".

Manchester United are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
