Oppo is offering a true bezel-less display with its Find X. The smartphone features a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8%.

For the uninitiated, the OPPO Find X flaunts a motorised section with a linear actuator in the middle. We are talking about the 3D facial recognition feature on the OPPO Find X, which has been integrated on the hardware level that makes it more secure than the same tech on Android phones that have only utilised it on the software level. Talking about the device, the Find X comes with gradient finish glass back body with curved edges. Dimensions measure 156.7 × 74.3 × 9.4mm and it weights 186g.

Oppo Find X has a curved 6.4 inch AMOLED display with a whopping screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent.

The Oppo Find X comes with the price tag of Rs 59,999 and will be available for pre-order starting from July 25 exclusively via Flipkart. It has an Octa-core CPU clocked in at 1.8GHZ where all of the cores are low powered Cortex-A53.

Powering the flagship is the Snapdragon 845 chipset, while the Adreno 630 handles the graphics. This price is for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage. Unfortunately, there is no micro SD card slot on board which means you cannot expand the memory of the phone. What you then see is a 25 megapixel front-facing camera, a dual 16 megapixel + 20 megapixel rear camera setup and the 3D facial scanning system. On the front, the device sports a 25MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. While Oppo has opted to go with a slide out mechanism for the cameras, only time will tell how well this design holds up in terms of long-term usage, as mechanical parts generally tend to wear out gradually. As claimed in the launch event, the motorized camera mechanism takes only 0.5 seconds to come out. This module pops up and down whenever the cameras are in use or whenever you need to unlock the device using face detection. It uses 3D Structured Light Technology that scans 15,000 facial points.

Yes, the OPPO Find X comes with slide-out cameras which are hidden inside the smartphone. The tray moves the entire top frame up revealing the cameras on both the rear and the front. The phone has 3D cameras with 3D Face Recognition system, front camera, rear dual camera and many intricate sensors. While the Vivo NEX hides the only front camera. This display has negligible bezel and Oppo calls it Panoramic Arc design. Both phones come with in-house charging features.

Oppo Find X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with a layer of ColorOS 5.1 UI. Connectivity options supported by the Find X include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, USB-Type C port, and Global Positioning System. It comes in two colour variants, Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue.

The Find X was launched just a few weeks ago and India is expected to be amongst the first lot of countries to get it. On the Flipkart, there is an offer for those who pre-order the phone, Rs. 3000 Flipkart voucher will be given to them.
