Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is entirely multiplayer and to prepare for this Activision and Treyarch is having a beta this August. Starting August 10th, PC players who have pre-ordered the game will gain access to the early access beta via Battle.net. The PC open beta starts the next day, August 11, at 10:00 PT, and runs through August 13th, 10:00 PT.

The first Beta will give players access to the Private Multiplayer Beta which will be available across all platforms.

There doesn't appear to be any other way to access the beta other than pre-ordering. PC and Xbox One users can get a chance to play the private multiplayer beta the next week once it is available on the PS4. This initial private beta will only be available to those playing on PS4.

Treyarch has announced that all those that participate in the Private Beta will receive exclusive items once the full game launches on October 12. Instead of a solitary beta event as is usually the case with Call of Duty games, there will be two betas.

As for Call of Duty's new Blackout mode, Activision simply says that its beta will launch some time in September. It will also offer a handful of modes to play, including fan favorites such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search & Destroy, as well as Black Ops 4's brand-new Control mode.

In Control, teams alternate rounds between attacking and defending two static objectives.

It's simple: pre-order a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The first team to win the first of three matches wins.

Pick 10 system back to Create-a-Class. Additional details about the test will be shared closer to September.

As has been the case for many previous Call of Duty titles, PlayStation owners will be prioritized over those on PC and Xbox One.
