The BBC has released the first official teaser for the next series of Doctor Who!

Unique among all science fiction heroes, the time-traveling alien known as the Doctor is most exciting when being reinvented.

Doctor Who Season 11 doesn't yet have a confirmed premiere date, but it's very likely we'll find out this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, where the show is set to feature. With Sunday's teaser, however, fans were presented with the characters in the flesh.

Cut to Yasmin, finishing a pizza with her friends, the same rattling, the same energy waves in white light around her, the same whoosh, a split-second cut to legs disappearing through a door with the tell-tale flourish of a long duster coat, and her empty pizza box is suddenly full.

While we were treated to a whistlestop tour of new companions Graham, Ryan, and Yasmin, it was what was going on around Graham (Bradley Walsh) that was the most interesting of all.

The new Doctor is is played by Broadchurch actor Jodie Whittaker, who is taking over the mantle from Peter Capaldi.

Fish Fingers and Custard: At the beginning of the teaser, we see Tosin Cole's Ryan eating a traditional English breakfast at a restaurant. She is the first woman to take on the role of the Time Lord.

Did you spot any other Easter eggs? The Doctor replaces Graham's newspaper with a copy of the Beano.

Here's what we learned from the promotional trailer, which gave viewers a taste of what to expect when the show's new series airs later this year.

"I didn't want anyone knowing". "Doctor Who Coming Fall 2018".

Honestly, there isn't much here to chew on except for the fact that new showrunner Chris Chibnall definitely has a new look for the show.

BBC and Federation Internationale de Football Association made a decision to take advantage of Whovians' collective excitement by releasing a brand-new promo this Sunday, when France and Croatia faced off in the most eagerly anticipated soccer standoff of 2018.
