OnePlus has updated its gallery app to add new features, which includes new video editing tools that allow users to trim videos, add background soundtracks, and apply filters.

When the gallery app is updated to its latest version 2.6.71, a new edit icon will appear in the app. A highlighting trick on the OnePlus 6 was the built-in video editing feature in the gallery itself. Rolling out now, the app update is bringing some of the OP6's video editing tools-including slow-motion video editing, background music, and general clipping/trimming-to older phones.

These features have been available in the OnePlus 6 since the phone launched a couple of months ago, and it's nice to see that OnePlus made a decision to push those very same features to its older devices. With this update, OnePlus seems to be seriously considering to keep support older models.

If you own any of the aforementioned devices, you can simply go to the Play Store and see if an update is available, or you can do it via your computer, heading to the link down below which will take you directly to the app's listing. Tapping on the filter icon will let you apply a color filter to the video. A music icon will let them add background music to the video from the options provided. It is providing more video editing options similar to the OnePlus 6, even if they won't be getting the new flagship's upgraded camera performance. The ability to trim videos is incredibly useful, though admittedly the others aren't as much. There's no way you can add custom music to the video from the Gallery app.

If you don't see the aforementioned video editing features on the OnePlus Gallery app on your OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 or 5T, make sure you are using the latest version of the app. The changelog of the update on the Google Play Store listing shows the following.
