'Utterly ridiculous': Vladimir Putin rejects claims of Russian influence in 2016 election

For the president to double down on his insistence that there wasn't any collusion, or even any meddling by Russian Federation at all, was perhaps the best Putin could get out of him at this summit, and he did not disappoint. "Trump just colluded with Russian Federation".

Trump thereby repudiated the records and agendas of the neocons and their liberal interventionist allies, as well as the archipelago of War Party think tanks beavering away inside the Beltway. "He and Putin seemed to be speaking from the same script as the president made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world".
