With Courtois now inside the final year of his contract, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez knows Chelsea must sell now or face losing their keeper for nothing in 12 months' time.

The Mirror claim Chelsea are desperate to beat Liverpool to the signing of Alisson and are prepared to offer Roma £70m.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Arsenal star Petr Cech as a potential summer target as they prepare for the departure of Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.

But the Brazil worldwide appears to be closer to Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp's side submitted a £62 million offer on Tuesday.

Cech spent 11 seasons at Chelsea, winning the Premier League four times and the Champions League, before leaving the club to join Arsenal in 2015.

"After six wonderful years at Chelsea, it might be time to try something new", he told HLN after Belgium's 2-0 win over England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup third-place play-off.

Cech is undoubtedly a Chelsea legend but made seven errors leading to goals in the Premier League last term.

But following the arrival of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Cech's status as Arsenal's No.1 goalkeeper is now under threat.

Real Madrid could complete a deal to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the coming days, according to reports.

Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League past year, missing out on Champions League soccer in 2018-19 while winning the FA Cup.
