Liverpool meet Roma's €70million asking price for Alisson

Liverpool have bid a world record £62 million for Roma goalkeeper Alisson as Jurgen Klopp looks to solve his goalkeeper problem.

Liverpool fans have been encouraged by Alisson himself and the player's agent that a deal taking him to Anfield is still very much possible after their social media activity was scrutinised.

Liverpool have reportedly made a bid in excess of £60 million for Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

Roma are said to want more than the alleged offer but Liverpool remain confident that an agreement can be reached with the Italian giants over the coming weeks.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the 25-year-old, but with Thibaut Courtois' future still up in the air and Real Madrid happy with Keylor Navas, Liverpool are in pole position to land the Brazilian.

Alisson has recently returned from the World Cup in Russian Federation where he appeared for Brazil.

Chelsea were regarded as favourites to sign the Brazil worldwide last week, but confusion over Thibaut Courtois' plans has opened the door to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ferrying him now to Merseyside.

"How on earth does Karius come back from errors of that magnitude in a Champions League final?", Aldridge asked in his Sunday World column.

But the 25-year-old showed more signs of being error-prone during the warm-up to a pre-season friendly against Chester earlier this month when he let a soft strike through his hands.

Immediately after Karius's disastrous performance in May's Champions League final against Real Madrid, speculation was rife that Klopp would attempt to sign a new No. 1 this summer.
