Alisson's Anfield arrival appears to have signalled Danny Ward's departure from Liverpool, with Sky sources indicating the Wales global is closing in on a £10m switch to Leicester.

The Reds completed the record-breaking signing of goalkeeper Alisson on Thursday night, with the Brazilian joining Xherdan Shaqiri, Naby Keïta and Fabinho as the club's fourth summer arrival.

Never before has a club spent so much money on a goalkeeper and while the now former Roma man is by no means the best in his position, he certainly provides a massive upgrade on Loris Karius. "As the negotiations were at an advanced stage, I replied to him straight away saying 'Calm down, I'm on my way!'" We are really happy to have him here now.

"When you make an important decision like this it's not just a decision to change clubs, it practically changes your entire life, my family's life, my wife, my daughter".

"It shows the value of goalkeepers, of course, in this moment".

Liverpool sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson for world-record £66.9mn
Great news for Liverpool fans as Roma release statement on Alisson

"How we all do, he needs to adapt to the English Premier League, that's how it is", he explained.

BleacherReport's football insider, Dean Jones, tweeted today that he believes the Fekir deal could be back on.

The 25-year-old, who now plays for Roma in Italy, is cutting short his vacation to undergo a medical on Merseyside after being given permission to talk to Liverpool. The league is different, the refs are different, the goalkeeper life is different in the Premier League.

In a similar way that Klopp attempted to convince us that Danny Ward would become Liverpool's number one this season, news that Liverpool will conclude their summer transfer business with the signing of Alisson could well be wide of the mark.
