Kirkman admitted, "Yeah, I lied to you guys about that". For me, the most aggravating part is its refusal to capitalize on its deep bench of complex and powerful women, but that might soon change, as veteran writer and producer Angela Kang is set to take the reins as showrunner for the upcoming season 9. He also asserts that there are "no plans" to make a TWD feature film. The show's ninth season, which includes a time jump, returns to AMC in October. Season 1 was his least favorite.

With the series' debut in 2012, fans of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead series experience a heartbreaking and intense story as we followed the trail of Clementine in her journey though a walker-infested America, and now a new trailer and images have released giving us more of the picture behind her story in The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Kirkman explained that he couldn't for "legal reasons and rights issues", but he is OK with the character not existing in the books.

Kirkman also touched briefly on his non-zombie projects.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, was speculated to be leaving the show following reports earlier this year, with Norman Reedus seemingly confirming the news by posting an online tribute.

Last month, Telltale Games confirmed 'The Final Season' of The Walking Dead video game series would be arriving on the Switch in late 2018. "But at the end of the day, it's all about Andrew Lincoln", he continued.

Robert went on to say Andrew cares "deeply" about the show and the loyal fans who have supported the drama series. "This is a human being". This is someone I have known for nearly a decade, somebody that I love. "He's been sweating in Georgia, away from his family, for so long", Kirkman added.
