The commitments, valued at almost $11 billion at current list prices, were announced at the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow.

Novus Aviation Capital has signed an agreement for up to four 777-300ERs.

"Today's announcement is yet more proof of the strong demand that we continue to see around the world for the 737 MAX airplane family", said Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing for The Boeing Company.

Of these aircraft, 80 are the recently launched 737 MAX 10 - the largest version of Boeing's best-selling 737 range - and 20 are the benchmark 737 MAX 8 model, Reuters reported.

The battle for sales in that part of the market was underscored on Thursday when Boeing said it had firmed up an order for at least 10 787s from Hawaiian Airlines, which it secured after the airline cancelled an order for the A330neo.

In 2015, Jet Airways had placed an order for 75 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, and had extended it by another 75 earlier this year.

AirAsia co-founder Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, a regular at airshows but who did not attend Farnborough this year, was also expected to expand the A330neo deal by around 30 aircraft to bring the order close to 100, worth US$30 billion at list prices, they said.

The 787 Dreamliner is a family of super-efficient and long-range airplanes that use 20 percent less fuel than the airplanes it replaces. The carrier was hinting at an order on Day 1 of Farnborough.

One deal of note included AirAsia X, a long-haul budget carrier and sister airline to AirAsia, which signed an agreement for 34 additional A330neo widebody twin jets, increasing the total number of the aircraft ordered to 100. The manufacturer calls it "an advanced analytics solution enabled my multi-source surveillance data".
