Hart spent last season on loan at West Ham, however, the former England number one is in the squad as he searches for a permanent move away.

16 City players featured at the World Cup.

A number of City's stars are absent for the pre-season fixture following the World Cup in Russian Federation.

"He's so young and in two years it is another European Championships and then in four years another World Cup", Guardiola said during a press conference during their U.S. tour. If not, he will stay here. We tried, but players have to go where they go. I am happy we won and happy to play against my old club.

Hart, who has been with City since 2006, has one year left on his contract with the club.

City's record signing Riyad Mahrez made his debut following his £60 million move from Leicester City and nearly grabbed his first goal with a wicked free kick just before half-time.

Guardiola has also suffered a setback in the transfer market this summer with Napoli's Italian worldwide midfielder Jorginho following manager Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea and although Leicester's Riyad Mahrez has signed for 60 million pounds ($79 million), the Spaniard is poised to begin the season with nearly the same squad.

"It would have been a mistake for him if he came and he wanted to go to Chelsea with Maurizio Sarri".

"So it is important that English football has received an exceptional player and at the end if they want to come, it's better they come".

Following the conclusion of the tournament last Sunday, a majority of City's first-team players have yet to resume full training and Guardiola said he will not rush them back. "All the best for him".

Guardiola also said of City winger Leroy Sane being left out of Germany's World Cup squad: "Maybe this decision will make him stronger".
