According to TSN's Steve Phillips, there might be a possible snag in the Los Angeles Dodgers' deal to acquire Baltimore Orioles' Manny Machado that could open the door for other clubs to acquire the All-Star third baseman.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the Orioles will receive a total of five prospects, headlined by Diaz, the Dodgers' No. 4 prospect and consensus top-100 prospect entering this season.

Phillips notes that the Machado situation will slow down Plan B pursuits for other teams until it is resolved.

During Tuesday's Major League Baseball All-Star game it was all but confirmed by most baseball writers that Machado was coming to LA for some prospects.

Machado, 26, is batting.315 with 24 homers, 65 RBIs and a.963 OPS in the final year of his contract before becoming a free agent.

Zaidi said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has explained to Machado about how much the team values flexibility and versatility in playing different positions. "We felt he was clearly the best player offered to us during this recent market".

"We liked the depth of the Dodger package, we liked the quality of the players in the package and we liked Yusniel Diaz, a player we feel is a gifted hitter", Duquette said. He was the key to the trade.

His name has been centered in trade talks for most of the season, with the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers emerging as trade partners with Baltimore.

Machado will play shortstop for Big Blue and will fill the void left by Corey Seager, who suffered a season-ending injury.

Diaz, 21, hit.314 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 59 games with the Dodgers' Double-A affiliate in Tulsa, Okla., this season.

Machado was drafted by the Orioles with the third overall pick in 2010 and has been a starter in Baltimore since 2012.
