It seemed like 31-year-old Arturo Vidal would be headed back to Serie A, but oh how things can change in the course of a few days.

Barcelona-bound: Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has agreed to move to Barcelona from Bayern Munich.

Furthermore, with a three-year deal between player and club officially agreed and announced, RAC1 believe Vidal's wages to reach 9m euros net per season.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player said on Bayern's official website: "Thanks to FC Bayern and all the fans".

Daily SPORT journalist Albert Rogé has gone to extraordinary lengths to track the movements of Barcelona target Arturo Vidal.

Vidal will reportedly earn around nine million euros per season with the Spanish giants.

Vidal is the Barcelona's fourth signing since the end of the last season following the arrival of Brazilian forward Malcolm, Brazilian midfielder Arthur and French defender Clement Lenglet.

Vidal, a Chile worldwide who was one of the biggest names available this summer, had been long linked to a move to Inter Milan after being deemed surplus to requirements by new Bayern coach Niko Kovac.

German champions Bayern have been keen to trim their star-studded squad.

Vidal, who also won a German Cup and two German Super Cup titles during three years at Bayern, thanked the club for "giving me the chance to embrace a new challenge in Barcelona".

"He always turned up in important games and we could always rely on him", said Bayern's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
