One of the individuals involved in the fight later came back to the park where the back-to-school event was ongoing and opened fire, endangering the lives of dozens of children.

Police haven't yet identified the gunman from Saturday's shooting at the "Peace in the City" festival in Titusville. The shooting was reported at 5:20 p.m.at Isaac Campbell Park in the central Florida city of Titusville, which is across the river from the Kennedy Space Center.

Dwight Harvey, who was a DJ at the event, recorded the video.

An armed civilian prevented a potential catastrophe in Florida over the weekend, neutralizing an attacker as he opened fire inside a packed park where residents were celebrating a "Back to School" event for the community. "So, when I turned around and looked, I saw the other guy returned fire".

The video shows adults and kids with backpacks shouting and running in different directions.

Police said the gunman was shot by a bystander, who they said was licensed to carry a gun.

The first shooter was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to the police, the armed citizen fully cooperated with the investigation following the shooting, and no charges are expected to be filed. A few minutes after leaving the park, the man returned and opened fire on the crowd.

Titusville police are still investigating the incident, Matthews said.

"We are extremely grateful that nobody else was injured in this incident", Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said in a news release.
