Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey was interviewed by Kicker and was asked about the transfer market rumors that have linked him with several clubs.

Bailey had somewhat of a breakout season at the BayArena a year ago, where he scored 12 goals and claimed six assists across all competitions.

He is a player that has seemingly been on Liverpool's radar for some time, while the likes of Christian Pulisic and Nabil Fekier have also been linked with moves to Anfield throughout the offseason. What I can say is that my full focus is on developing myself as a young player.

The Daily Star claimed earlier this summer that the Reds were one of a whole host of clubs interested in signing the £60 million-rated Jamaican winger, but as yet, no formal approaches have been made for his signature.

The summer transfer window is drawing to a close and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we'll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe.

Leverkusen captain Sven Bender admits that while Bailey has special abilities, he is keen for the youngster to remain with Bayer.

"But we did not expect that he would explode that fast".

"It is important that he handles the hype around him correctly and does not want too much too fast". Now everybody comes to him and suddenly wants something from him.

For now the 20-year-old is focused on mounting a title challenge in the Bundesliga.

Bayer's Bundesliga campaign begins on August 25 with a trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.
