"Me and my husband saw "Crazy Rich Asians" the book at the airport, we put it on social media and the company that's putting out "Crazy Rich Asians" was like, 'Will you guys do a screening?'" she said on Wednesday. So it is only fitting that the film's world premiere, held in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 7 night, reflected some of that fabulous glitz and glamour. It is too bad that the dress overwhelms and takes away the focus from her glittery necklace.

"This was the reason we made the effort to be is my honor to proudly represent the Philippines", she wrote on Instagram.

"Maraming salamat po sa effort nyo to show your love & support!" she added.

In an earlier post, she said that she was still deciding on which of the gowns by Michael Leyva and Francis Libiran she would wear.

"She's a highlight of the movie, for me, she's a highlight", he said in a video shared by Aquino on Instagram.

The film "Crazy Rich Asians" is slated to be released worldwide this August.

While attending a wedding in Singapore, New Yorker Rachel Chu, played by Constance Wu, finds out her boyfriend, Nick Young, played by Henry Golding, is a billionaire and one of the country's most eligible bachelors.

Singaporean actress Janice Koh, who plays Nick's aunt Felicity, flew the Singapore flag high on the red carpet in an entirely Singapore-designed get-up: Her black dress is by local fashion designer Ong Shunmugam, the earrings by local jeweller Choo Yilin, and a clutch by Singapore's Ling Wu.

"Crazy Rich Asians" is the first Asian-American-focused film from a US studio in 25 years.
