The game is officially debuting on October 12, so you should go ahead and lock in that preorder now.

Since neither company managed to reach 104, they have failed the mission and now face erasure. The Nintendo Switch version of the game comes with upgraded HD visuals, a brand new control scheme for the system, and an entirely new story scenario. The World Ends With You originally featured touchscreen controls for its action-RPG gameplay, seeing how it was originally a Nintendo DS game.

Vibrant themes highlighting Japanese youth culture, food, and fashion are seamlessly integrated into the gameplay and unique storyline. Players can join rhythmic battles using either Joy-Con controllers or the Nintendo Switch touch screen. The music is also really, really good, which is what many players of the original game remember most fondly.

Featuring five modes, six characters, and "ultimate competitive multiplayer" gaming, the Switch version "mirrors the full game as released a year ago on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita with online rankings, several great modes and Windjammin'".

This will mark the first time the game has been seen on a new console outside of iOS and Android, and it's been a long time coming, after a decade of no news.

The Nintendo Switch port of the DS cult classic "The World Ends with You" is bringing its unique blend of rhythmic battles and adventure to the console on October 12 as both digital and physical editions, Nintendo announced Tuesday morning.
