The Magic Leap One Creator Edition, which the company calls a "spatial computing" device, officially ships in the United States today for $2,295.

The headset is more suited to qualified designers and developers.

If you want to get into a sandbox mix reality experience, Magic Leap Studios has developed Create that lets developers paint, draw, build, and create in many ways.

But Magic Leap says buyers can register their interest and receive an alert when sales of the headset open in their city or country.

One of the rare startups having investors like Google, Alibaba and Andreessen Horowitz in its list has raised around $2.3 billion according to Crunchbase.

As for the specs, the system is packing an Nvidia Parker CPU with two Denver 2.0 64-bit cores and four ARM Cortex A57 64-bit cores.

Controlling the headset is done with voice and a touch-sensitive trackpad on the wand controller, which also has a trigger button, a bumper button and a home button.

Magic Leap has also drawn attention recently from reports that the Field-of-View (FoV) for the device is a relatively unimpressive 40 degrees vertical by 30 degrees horizontal, with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Magic Leap and Weta Workshop have also jointly built Dr. Grordbort's Invaders that will bring a hyper-realistic action gaming experience to the Magic Leap One in the coming future. However, thanks to some tantalising hints on the official Magic Leap website, we might now know the launch date.

To run the user interface and software in the goggles, Magic Leap installed its own specialized operating system called LuminOS.

The Magic Leap One Creator Edition comes with AR glasses, called the Lightwear; a wearable computer, called the Lightpack; and a handheld controller. Analysts have quickly put these things together to conclude that either the company will announce details of the launch today, or the Magic Leap One Creator's Edition will actually launch today. Shoppers can launch Helio within Magic Leap One, Creator Edition, place the browser anywhere in their space, and then launch Wayfair's MR experience with just one tap. There, developers can access software development kits for Unity and Unreal Engine 4 support, find code resources, tutorials and forums for connecting with other creators. There isn't a cellular connection available on Magic Leap One.
