Elsewhere, the Note 9 features AKG-tuned stereo speakers that are the "loudest ever" on a Samsung phone, a rear-positioned fingerprint scanner, Google's Android 8.1 Oreo OS, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, support for wireless charging and Samsung DeX, which can now be enabled using an HDMI adaptor.

Pricing starts at $549 for the 42mm and $599 for the 46mm Bluetooth devices and $649 for the 42mm and $699 for the 46mm cellular devices.

The new phone will get some automatic photo editing and a stylus that can serve as a remote control. The Note is about bigger, more, most - and so for Note fans, bigger has nearly always meant better. "Everything is a little bit better, but nothing's revolutionary".

"The new Galaxy Watch was designed for all lifestyles to help meet consumer needs, such as more efficient battery life to stay connected longer, and better wellness tracking to help users maintain their goals - we are delivering them with connected experiences, all at the touch of a wrist". Samsung didn't even really attempt to sell the new Note as revolutionary, or to convince its audience that they were getting a great product for the money.
