This statement came as a counter after Jolie asserted a day earlier that he has paid "no meaningful child support" for their six children ever since their split in 2016.

Brad's legal team has hit back at Angelina's claims in a court filing, saying he paid more than $1.3 million in costs and loaned the Maleficent star $8 million to help her buy a house.

But yesterday Jolie's lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, spoke out to say that the actress' filing "was both legally appropriate and factually accurate in all respects".

We're told she's talking about filing such a claim. "Brad was asked to assist in the expense of a new home for Angelina and the children, but instead he loaned Angelina money, for which he is charging her interest on a payment plan".

Family Law attorney David Pisarra explained to the outlet that 'If Angelina is intentionally interfering with Brad's relationship with the children, that is abusive behavior. Angelina will of course honour that loan.

It's not clear what child support arrangements the couple has in place during the divorce process after splitting two years ago.

In the latest round of bitter accusations between the Hollywood power couple once known as Brangelina, Pitt's attorneys said the actor had paid over US$1.3 million (S$1.7 million) in bills for Jolie and their six children since their 2016 separation.

"Angelina has had to shoulder the majority of those without his contribution for the past two years", said Bley DeJean.

They said Brad "adamantly disputes the contention that he has not paid significant child support". Typically a father of means would pay these expenses voluntarily without the need for a request or court order.

The broadcaster blasted: "That's such a weak, cheap shot, Angelina - especially for a humanitarian who says she always puts her children first".

Brad Pitt on Wednesday rebutted claims that he had failed to support his children and accused his estranged wife Angelina Jolie of trying to manipulate the media in their long drawn-out divorce. "We are hopeful that this can be resolved without further delay or posturing". He calls Jolie's Tuesday request for a meeting specifically about child support "calculated to increase the conflict".
