Fortnite released on Android, coming to Samsung devices first

Today, I was able to get hands-on with the company's latest flagship at an exclusive press event in London.

We can expect Amazon and Flipkart to offer the device for pre-order as well.

Once you've picked a trade-in, you will notice that the price in your cart for your Galaxy Note 9 has dropped to reflect the trade-in. In all honesty, these are the areas which have changed least since the Note 8.

Other than that, though, things are looking pretty familiar - but that is no bad thing. You'd be hard-pressed to tell it apart from its predecessor, but while it may look a lot like the Note 8, it's what's inside that counts.

As for the camera we're getting the same horizontal dual camera layout as the Note 9, albeit with a fingerprint scanner below the lenses.

The post says: "Fortnite is being rolled out for Android, with Samsung users getting first shot at playing the popular game". Still, it's fun just to note the different pop culture references, intentional or not, before the Android beta goes live for everyone.

Then there's the S-Pen.

The new phone will get some automatic photo editing and a stylus that can serve as a remote control.

A new stylus called the S Pen is this year's highlight upgrade. The Spotify app will be available when customers set up their new Samsung phones, and will also be integrated into Samsung's smart TVs and speakers. Numerous features announced for the Note 9 are already par for the course for Chinese firms. Both cameras have 12MP sensors and have OIS. Borrowing from the iPhone's playbook, the Note 9 will have the same US price regardless of carrier. This means the camera detects various objects and scenarios and adjusts its parameters accordingly - much like the Huawei P20 Pro. In terms of exterior functionality, the Galaxy Watch features some side-mounted buttons, as well as a rotatable bezel that allows for the cycling through of apps and menus. In a jab at Apple, Samsung executives also frequently emphasize that their phones have standard headphone jacks, which newer iPhones no longer do. In contrast, the Gear S3 cost $349 (£349) at launch, so providing you plump for the smaller model, this time you can get hooked up for $20 less.

Samsung's also promising that the Note 9 is created to make sure it lasts.

However, don't let this bold fashion statement fool you - the Galaxy Watch is as sturdy as they make them, employing Corning's tough Gorilla Glass DX+ glass, which is designed specifically for smartwatches.

I know what you're thinking: you don't need a Samsung Chromebook 3. Useful? Absolutely - but not groundbreaking.

For the first time in recent memory, the Galaxy Note 9 is priced at $999 for the 128GB model and $1,249 for the 512GB model across the board. As ever there's microSD support for cards up to 512GB in size, meaning you can have up to 1TB of storage if you buy the bigger variant.
