Kevin de Bruyne suffers knee injury, could miss several months

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has suffered a knee injury during training and looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

The Belgium global enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season, scoring eight goals and setting up another 16 as City romped to Premier League success.

The Belgium worldwide will now undergo tests to determine to extent of the injury.

De Bruyne, 27, is expected to fly to Barcelona for further tests with specialist Dr. Ramon Cugat who treated him when suffered a knee injury in January 2016.

De Bruyne only returned to training last Monday after helping Belgium to the semifinals of the World Cup in Russian Federation.


De Bruyne says it's reward for the midfielder's dedication.

The former Chelsea man had only seen his first minutes of action in a City shirt this season as a second half substitute in the victory over Arsenal on Sunday after delayed return to action following his World Cup exploits.

As well, in the next six weeks City face just one side who finished in the top ten last season in Newcastle, with their other five matches also being against teams who gained promotion in the last two seasons.

He may even miss the trip to Liverpool on October 7.
