The official POCO Facebook and Twitter pages are already sending out teasers of its first - the POCO F1 smartphone.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi's sub-brand POCO is set to launch its first smartphone POCO F1 in India on August 22.

Xiaomi recently teased its new sub-brand called POCO (a.k.a POCOPHONE). Also, an FCC listing had given nearly everything about the alleged Poco F1, even before that. At least, relatively more affordable than phones with similar specs.

"As a small outfit within Xiaomi, we have the freedom to start from scratch, zeroing in on the product choices that matter". Do make sure you visit MySmartPrice on August 22 as we will be bringing you live updates from the launch event in New Delhi. Breaking from the stereotypes of its parent company Xiaomi and offering something extra especially with regards to affordable flagships.

As mentioned earlier, both Xiaomi and Poco have remained tight-lipped about what's in store with the Poco F1. Would you consider the Pocophone F1 over the Mi 8 if it's priced under RM1,300 in Malaysia? A leaked picture which reportedly shows the label from the retail box of the phone has uncovered that the POCO F1 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Though the device sports rear-facing fingerprint sensor, there is a secured IR face unlock option. It will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI skin laid on top.

For optics, the POCO F1 will feature a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup powered by AI features like other Xiaomi phones.

In the camera department, Pocophone F1 is said to come with 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel rear cameras, 20-megapixel selfie camera. With all these powerful specifications, the POCO F1 comes backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
