Star Wars Resistance is bringing Poe Dameron, BB-8 and new Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono to life in an animated series debuting on the Disney Channel on October 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Featuring the high-flying adventure that audiences of all ages have come to expect from Star Wars, Star Wars Resistance — set in the time prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens — will feature the beloved droid BB-8 alongside ace pilots, colorful new characters and appearances by fan favorites including Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, voiced by actors Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie, respectively.

Kaz is stationed alongside Poe's longtime friend Jarek Yeager (Legion's Scott Lawrence), a seasoned pilot who runs the fix shop.

Now Playing: Watch this: Star Wars Resistance shows Poe Dameron, BB-8 giving out. The voice cast also includes Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, Myrna Velasco, Josh Brener, Donald Faison, Jim Rash, Bobby Moynihan, and Rachel Butera as General Leia Organa. Kaz soon finds himself in over his head with his new friend BB-8 as he'll have to compete in risky sky races, keep his mission a secret from his newfound family, and avoid the danger of the First Order.

Sounds fun! I'm pleasantly surprised to see Disney has an all-new Star Wars animated series ready to go so quickly after the series finale of Star Wars Rebels in 2017.

BB-8 is as animated as ever in Star Wars Resistance. At the time, little was known about the secretive organization and its strength. After Kaz bragged with his piloting skills at his arrival there, he is soon drawn into one of the races...

Star Wars: Resistance was created by Rebels and The Clone Wars producer Dave Filoni, who reunites much of his behind-the-scenes team from those shows, including executive producers Athena Portillo, Justin Ridge and art director Amy Beth Christenson.
