Vivo Y83 launched on May 2018. Android Go is the watered-down build of the Android Oreo (8.0).

Google's host of Go Edition apps, which have been reimagined to provide a better experience on lesser hardware have also been improved in the new version.

For Google's previous two flagship releases, they have unveiled the new phones on October 4, and many Android fans predict an announcement at a similar time. The oldest devices on the list by Motorola are the Moto Z2 Play and Z2 Force, which were released mid 2017. Android Messages for Android (Go edition) is now 50 per cent smaller in size and the Phone App includes caller ID and spam detection.

Devices that participated in the P Beta programme - Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and all other qualifying Android One devices - would receive this update by the end of this year. The phone packs 32/64GB internal memory. The only difference is that there is a Motorola logo that also serves as a fingerprint sensor, something that the iPhone X does not have.

A major improvement from the Android Oreo (Go edition), the Pie (Go edition) will be available later this fall. The latest version of the Android OS is the Android 9 Pie.

Last week, Mountain View-based Internet search giant Google surprised everyone by suddenly announcing the latest version of Android - Android 9.0 Pie. Vivo has not yet announced the ETA (estimated time of arrival), but it is expected that the roll out will begin by December 31. The issue started following the Android 9 Pie upgrade. This was reaffirmed by reports in July, which stated that the problem was already present during the Android Pie betas.
