Juventus are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal to sign Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi.

The 20-year-old has had several loan spells away from the Emirates Stadium, spending time at Charlton Athletic on two occasions and also at Preston North End.

Mavididi looks set to be the latest English footballer to ply his trade overseas and it is becoming an increasingly popular trend, with Chelsea's Jonathan Panzo opting to ditch the club that nurtured him in favour of a move to AS Monaco recently.

Mavididi came through the youth ranks at Arsenal, but has not made a senior appearance for the club.

A slew of young players have left the Premier League to forge paths elsewhere, notably Jadon Sancho, who left Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund, while fellow former Gunner Kaylen Hinds left for Wolfsburg.

He is the latest English academy player at Arsenal to move overseas, with midfielder Marcus McGuane having joined Barcelona's B-side this summer and Chris Willock opting to move to Benfica previous year.

It will be intriguing to see whether Mavididi can make an impression at Juventus.
