"As a outcome, within hours of Senator Anning's speech, I resigned my position effective immediately".

An adviser to Fraser Anning has quit after the Queensland senator used the Nazi phrase "final solution" in a controversial speech on Muslim immigration.

Richard Mcgilvray said he resigned within hours of Anning's highly controversial first speech.

"I'd like to thank many of you for your messages of support and encouragement this morning", he said.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said the Katter's Australian Party senator was wrong not to apologise after claiming he didn't make the connection between "the final solution" and the Holocaust. "The record of Muslims who have already come to this country in terms of rates of crime, welfare dependency and terrorism are the worst of any migrant and vastly exceed any other immigrant group", said Senator Anning in the Senate.

"We reject, we condemn racism in any form, and the remarks by Senator Anning are justly condemned and rejected by us all", Turnbull told Australia's parliament.

He is committed to a plebiscite on "European immigration" despite ferocious criticism of his praise for the White Australia policy. Muslims account for less than three percent of Australia's population, census data shows.

Malcolm Turnbull also condemned the speech as "appalling", saying it was a "shocking rejection" of Australian values.

The senator made headlines this week advocating for using the phrase "final solution" while advocating for a new White Australia policy.

Mr Shorten moved a unanimously-passed motion in parliament praising the Holt government for beginning the dismantling of the White Australia policy in 1966.

Opposition Labor party leader Bill Shorten told parliament yesterday: "You have to be pretty outrageous to be condemned by everybody in the Australian parliament, but Senator Anning has managed to do just this".

The Final Solution or the Final Solution to the Jewish Question was a Nazi plan for the genocide or extermination of the Jews during World War Two.
