If you were hoping to rekindle the flame of nostalgia next month, you're going to have to wait just a little bit longer.

According to a statement from developer Toys for Bob on the official Activision blog, the release has been pushed back by approximately two months, to November 13th 2018.

Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan has confirmed in a blog post that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for PS4 and Xbox One will now be released on November 13.

Citing a need for "more love and care", Toys for Bob Studio Co-Head Paul Yan released a brief statement about the delay. The exact cause of the delay was left unexplained, but the team at Toys for Bob is "committed to getting these games right" and they've determined that the collection "needs more love and care" before its ready for release. Yan is certain fans will be pleased with the game though.

Fans also recently discovered the second and third games in the Trilogy will require a download of some kind to play. Activision made it clear that this is not a DRM move and will simply be the same as a day one update that most games require.

Toys for Bob is the same studio who recently worked on a different upgraded PlayStation series, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which just came out a year ago.

The news comes shortly after Spyro's San Diego Comic-Con showing, which confirmed the return of original composer Stewart Copeland for a new piece of Spyro music. We've had games delayed by years in the past so hopefully, this little extra wait will be worth it.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an awesome gaming experience that builds on the excellence of the first three games.
