This is the Moto AI - Motorola's first smart speaker

Now it seems Google may also have designs on launching their own Smart Display by year end. If Google wants to have this new smart speaker out the door in time for the holidays, it probably won't be much longer before it's officially confirmed - perhaps we'll see it revealed alongside the rumored Pixel 3?

"The new product, which is likely to be similar to the Amazon Echo Show, would round out the Google Home range of smart speakers running the artificially intelligent Google Assistant, akin to Amazon's Alexa", a report in the Nikkei Asian Review claims, citing sources.

"Google targets to ship some three million units for the first batch of the new model of smart speaker that comes with a screen", an industry source said.

That lineup includes Google Home Max, which is analogous to Amazon Echo; and the Home Mini, which goes up against the Echo Dot. According to the firm, Amazon owned 70 percent of the market as of June 30 followed by Google's 24 percent share with its Google Home line. "According to rumours through 9to5Google, there's the possibility that the Google Smart Display would have either a 10" or possibly even larger screen size with dual microphones, front-facing camera and possibly a standalone battery allowing you to move the device around your house or beyond.

I'm just going to guess that's the kind of blandly generic name this device is going to get - is reportedly going to be a big part of Google's smart-home device plans. How that plays out against its competitors remains to be seen.
