"Dontnod has created a uniquely dark, immersive world with deep narration, which has made VAMPYR already a modern video game classic", said Focus Entertainment CEO Jurgen Goeldner.

The tinsel-town folks over at Deadline are reporting that Dontnod's stealth horror title Vampyr is in talks to be adapted into a television series. It's next show is 2019's The Politician, which is set to air on Netflix.

The supernatural action-adventure game has been optioned by Fox to be produced through McG's production company Wonderland Sound & Vision. The latter is involved with several ongoing video game adaptation projects, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Life is unusual, and We Happy Few. Mary Viola and Corey Marsh from Wonderland and Dmitri Johnson and Stephan Bugaj will also executive produce.

In Vampyr, gamers play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor in 1918 London newly-turned into a vampire following his return from the Great War.

Considering that the show is still very early in development, it's unknown just what kind of tone McG and his team will be going for, nor will they include any characters from the game to be included in the series. The actual adaptation will be handled by DJ2 Entertainment, who is already working with Dontnod on a TV adaptation of Life is unusual.
