Wilder was ringside at Windsor Park in Belfast to see Fury taken the full 10 rounds by Italian journeyman Francesco Pianeta before being awarded the victory on points, 100-90.

The well publicized incident took place inside a Nandos restaurant in Belfast where Saunders and Wilder got into a confrontation that ended with a piece of chicken flying at Wilder followed by Saunders quickly legging it out of the establishment. Wilder formally announced that a fight against Fury is now official with a date and location to be revealed next week.

'We are two men who will fight anybody, ' said Fury.

"They called. I answered", he said. "I said yes and now he gets his shot to fight the lineal heavyweight champion of the world".

"You've never been knocked out but you're going to feel the experience, what it feels to get hit by the Bronze Bomber". "He's undefeated. They understand that", said the 66-year-old.

"Let's face it, he's not really fought anybody and he's had 40 fights", declared Fury, referring to Wilder's own unblemished history.

"One thing I promise is when I go to Las Vegas - I'm knocking you the f**k out".

Tyson Fury holds Deontay Wilder's WBC belt aloft as he celebrates victory against Francesco Pianeta.

"Tyson Fury has never had the WBC belt", he said. And if he ever thinks about having this belt, he better wake up and apologise to me because he'll never have this.

Ahead of a potential mega-bout, Tony Bellew has offered his thoughts on the fight and he's not liking Fury's chances at all, predicting a Wilder stoppage inside three rounds.

Wilder, the WBC Champion, said he had been "waiting" to fight Fury. "It's no secret that I need the rounds".

"He went to Germany, Klitschko's backyard, and came away with the prize and he's confident of doing the same to Wilder". This was a step up in opponent and a better display. "This man [Pianeta] couldn't land a blow on me tonight".

At Friday's weigh-ins, Wilder and Fury exchanged heated words.

The showdown will be arguably the most buzzed about heavyweight fight on American soil since Lennox Lewis squared off with a depleted Mike Tyson in 2002.
