But in a statement Monday, Gordon K. Sattro said: "At this time, our client, Jimmy Bennett, does not wish to comment on the documents or the events discussed in the New York Times article yesterday evening".

In a statement sent to reporter Yashar Ali, Argento called Bennett's story, which was revealed in a New York Times report, "absolutely false".

"I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett", the actress said.

Bourdain, her statement says, wanted the matter to "be handled privately and this was also what Bennett wanted".

Argento goes on to say that her boyfriend, the late chef Anthony Bourdain, "was afraid of the possible negative publicity that such a person, whom he considered risky, could have brought upon us".

"Anthony personally undertook to help Bennett economically, upon the condition that we would no longer suffer any further intrusions in our life", she added.

Actress Rose McGowan, who also alleges that she was sexually abused by Weinstein, stated on Twitter that the new claims against Argento stunned her.

ABC News reached out to Argento and her representatives for comment on the allegations and we have not heard back. Bennett, however, described the 2013 encounter in the hotel as "sexual battery" and said the trauma impacted his work, mental health and income, according to the Times.

Argento has been one of the harshest accusers of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein and one of the most outspoken critics of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry. In addition, Bourdain reportedly told Argento that she wasn't purchasing silence, "only freedom from inconvenience". Bennett was 17 years old - not old enough to consent legally - at the time of the alleged act.

The Times obtained documents that show former child actor Jimmy Bennett received $380,000 via Argento's lawyer.

Asia Argento accused studio mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual impropriety, leading to him being fired and the opening of multiple criminal investigations in multiple countries.

Bourdain died in June and his death was ruled a suicide.

In addition, TMZ has published details from some purported texts between Argento and Bourdain while they were discussing Bennett.

The notice of intent asked for $3.5 million in damages. She told The New Yorker magazine last October that he had raped her during the Cannes festival in 1997 when she was 21.
