During the NVIDIA's RTX presentation ahead of Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, EA and DICE today announced the open beta dates for Battlefield V. DICE revealed that those who pre-order Battlefield V will be able to gain access to the beta in a closed phase that will begin on September 4. Pre-loading the open beta starts on September 3.

The Battlefield V open beta will feature the recently revealed Rotterdam map on the 64-player Conquest mode, which takes the battle to the streets of Holland in the Netherlands. In this modular narrative experience inspired by historical events, each day is represented by a round of play, and player actions have a direct impact on the next round. In addition to the new map and mode, a five-part Tides of War chapter-an ever-evolving journey through World War II featuring a new story every few months-will be available during the open beta, and those that complete it will receive an exclusive in-game Dog Tag when the game launches. "With this new NVIDIA RTX platform, more detail than ever before can now be seen on the battlefield, from recognizing the flash of a muzzle being reflected off a vehicle to spotting the detailed reflection of a devastated facade in a splash of water on the ground".

No word on when the open beta will be available for download, but EA should send us a notification so players can prepare for battle when it kicks off. Nvidia also partnered with EA DICE and used Battlefield V to showcase the newly-announced RTX video cards.

Battlefield V storms onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 19. However, those who subscribe to Origin Access Premier on PC will be able to play from the 11th.
