Warners has made a decision to part ways the British actor, who has played the role of Kal-El in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

The news comes months after reports that Ben Affleck is making his way out of the DC Universe.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, he has apparently parted ways with Warner Bros. after three films in the role. Director Matt Reeves' The Batman would, of course, then introduce a new Bruce Wayne, but an unnamed source told THR that it may be a while before a new Superman movie goes into production.

Henry has played Superman in 2013′s Man of Steel, 2016′s Batman v. Superman and 2017′s Justice League. The latter two struggled at the box office and were panned by critics.

"THR added: "'There's a recognition that some parts of the previous movies didn't work, ' says the studio insider. Following his brilliant turn in Mission: Impossible - Fallout and his appointment as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher show, it looks like the actor's time in the DC Extended Universe is coming to an end.

When Warner Bros shifted their focus to the upcoming Supergirl movie, Cavill's role in the franchise was up in the air because he didn't fit the timeline. The contract talks were allegedly for an appearance in next year's Shazam! "This effectively removes an actor of Cavill's age from the storyline's equation given that Superman, aka Kal-El, would be an infant, according to DC lore".
