Pokemon Go: Mewtwo Coming To Regular Raid Battles For The First Time

The popular mobile game announced a huge Kanto-themed event as its Ultra Bonus reward for its players completing a summer worth of Global Challenges. Starting in just a few days, the original Legendary trio from Kanto will be available in raids, but that's just the appetizer before the main course.

"On September 20 at 1:00 P.M. (PDT), Mewtwo will come to Raid Battles for the first time ever!" Up to this point, the only way to catch Mewtwo was to be invited to an EX raid, but now you will see the legendary psychic-type Pokemon appear in gyms all over from the 20th of this month through October 23rd. Ultra Bonus has been touted as a massive Research breakthrough, and it really is massive, spanning throughout entire September and featuring iconic Pokemon and, finally, Mewtwo.

And for the collectors amongst you, previously regional exclusive Pokemon like Farfetch'd, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will be joining the Alolan lineup in 7km eggs. Players collect Alolan eggs by opening gifts, so players will want to stockpile as many eggs as they can to try to fill out their collection. "Also, Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will appear more frequently all over the world and show up more frequently in Raid Battles until September 30!" Sure. But it also makes clear that everyone will have the chance to complete their Pokedex regardless of their ability to travel.

The event starts September 13th, so get raid for a month of battles and getting those long absent Pokemon for your collection!
