Xherdan Shaqiri thinks Liverpool need to develop a similar type of mentality to dominant Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich if they want to win titles.

Liverpool made it all the way to the Champions League final last season, but as a result had to secure their top-four spot in the league on the final day.

Owen expects Jurgen Klopp's men to defeat Spurs this weekend. Liverpool's League Cup triumph in 2012 remains their most recent trophy of any kind.

So far they have conceded one goal - through an Alisson error - and headline the Premier League table with superior goal difference of 10, when previous year at the same period they were sitting on a miserly zero.

And Shaqiri, who joined from relegated Stoke City in pre-season, feels Liverpool are missing the mentality Bayern have.

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen has predicted that Liverpool will beat Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday's Premier League fixture.

"As a United fan, that's a worry because it is still that mentality of "anyone but them".

The World Cup victor will miss this weekend's match against Liverpool with a hamstring injury but his club will not be taking any additional action.

"Last year they had a very good year. But we will try to keep our good performances and I hope we can win a lot of games", the Switzerland global told reporters. That's the most important goal now.

The Reds play an extremely exciting brand of football which requires the players on the pitch to work a lot harder than their opponents. We are still a young team. As he is such a big player and everyone expects something from every action, so his expectations are different'. "That has to be our aim".
