During the gameplay, the duo of Lainez and Miazga were embroiled in a battle to get the possession of the ball.

The altercation emerged as the pair tussled for possession near the touchline and the USA ace does well to draw a foul from the Club America teenager. "Infuriated by the tackle, the 6'4" tall Miazga got close to Lainez and gestured his hand to his chest-height, towards Lainez.

Matt Miazga, who plays for the Chelsea football club, kicked-up a storm when he crossed the line and insulted Mexico's teenage player, Diego Lainez, about his short height.

However, tempers seemed to boil over as Zaldivar would soon haul Trapp down near midfield to earn the straight red.

Adams would score the lone goal of the contest four minutes after the red card.

Miazga agreed it wasn't anything out of the ordinary but believed the situation threw the Mexican players off their game.

"We talked a little smack", Miazga said (via the Sun). "It took a toll and we won the game".

The U.S. continues playing friendlies next month against Colombia and Peru.

Right-back DeAndre Yedlin was seen during the USMNT's 2-0 loss to Brazil questioning the referee's decision to call him for a foul on star forward Neymar.

Neymar later responded, saying he did not care because he did not know who Yedlin was.
