Images provided to Asia Wire by concertgoers in the major port city in East China show security guards singling out supposedly unruly fans and dragging them from their seats on 12th September.

Some said people were ejected for standing up during the performance, while others said they were targeted for waving flags promoting LGBTQ rights.

She wrote: "Last night I did it for my fans, a promised show". I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show'.

"What you did takes a lot of bravery", she continued.

"I was horrified by what happened and send love to all my fans involved", she added.

"We're not here for very much longer, we have only a few more songs, and I would love for these last few songs for us all to really, really enjoy ourselves".

After the incidents, a tearful Lipa, 23, told the crowd, "I want us all to dance. I just want us all to have a really good time".

Lipa has spoken out in support of LGBTQ rights in the past, telling the U.K.'s Gay Times in 2016, "I think artists should really use their power and presence on social media to just put it out there and show support".

The woman also alleged that security placed one fan who was ejected in a headlock.

Dua Lipa, the Albanian singer, is not happy that some of her fans were booted out of the concert venue in Shanghai where she was performing on Wednesday.

The rights in China are behind that of the United Kingdom, meaning that the fans who shared the flag were actively persecuted.

Homosexuality is not illegal in China, as of 1997, but the Chinese social media site Sina Weibo did recently make headlines when they announced that posts relating to homosexuality would be taken down (though this ban was eventually reversed following a backlash).

Another concert-goer, who wished to stay anonymous in fear of repercussions, told MailOnline that she saw one fan, a female, being kicked out by several security guards.
