Mesut Ozil 'can do more' for Arsenal, says Unai Emery

Ozil ended his worldwide career after the World Cup, citing "racism and disrespect" over his Turkish roots. However, I think we'll see him keep his place at the heart of midfield this weekend. But he is feeling like I am feeling.

'He working well. He is OK.

Saturday is another step we can do, it will be hard but I want to continue (to show) our personality on the pitch and impose this personality on the opposition and to find the win.

With Ozil having retired from global football, Emery has had a prolonged opportunity to work with his highest-profile and best-paid player over this past fortnight and is adamant that they do have a strong relationship.

Following talks over the global break, Emery claims the two are getting on and have a good working relationship.

'Mesut, like other players, works very well here.

'The reason is that I am very happy with the last two victories in the Premier League and also with the performances and I want to push every player to be okay to help the team if for one minute, 30 minutes or half time or 90 minutes'.

"I want to find with him the possibility to do the best, to make decisive passes, to do more near and in the box to score".

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis' future looks less certain, though, with AC Milan having re-opened negotiations with him.

The word in Italy is Milan, who were taken over by United States hedge fund Elliott Management in the summer, are confident of securing their target following weeks of wooing.

Monreal, whose contract with Arsenal has entered its final year, is on Barcelona's transfer radar, with the Catalan giants looking at him as cover for Jordi Alba during the January transfer window.

'Every conversation with me is speaking about us, ' Emery said on Gazidis.
